Mika Rotunda Updates on Her Father’s Health
The daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda has shared some insights about her father’s condition following comments from Barry Windham, who indicated that Rotunda is in hospice care. Mika clarified, via a social media post, that Windham had slightly miscommunicated.
“My dad is in a rehab center, not hospice,” she posted on Instagram. “He experienced a major heart attack on September 20th, was in a coma for a week, and spent over a month in the hospital. Thankfully, he has now been moved to a rehabilitation facility where our family is optimistic about his recovery.”
“It’s already been quite a journey, and we know there’s a long way to go, but our faith remains unwavering. Anyone who knows my dad understands that it’s his strength, dedication, and athletic talent that have helped him navigate every challenge, including this one. If there’s one person I’m certain can pull through, it’s Captain Mike.”
The wrestling community has shown tremendous support during this time, which the family appreciates. They have requested privacy as they continue on this path, but they are open to receiving prayers and positive energy for his healing.
Rotunda and Windham, who is also Rotunda’s brother-in-law, formed the US Express tag team and celebrated two victories as the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Champions. They are set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2024.
At 67, Rotunda is also well-remembered for his persona as the IRS character, where he playfully ‘challenged’ his opponents over tax obligations, teaming up with Ted DiBiase as part of the Money Inc. tag team, winning the titles three times.
Additionally, Rotunda is the father of the late wrestler Bray Wyatt and his younger son, Bo Dallas. Bray Wyatt tragically passed away in 2023.
