Dave Grohl has announced that he has become a father to a baby girl born “out of wedlock.”
The Foo Fighters frontman, 55, said in an Instagram post on Tuesday that he plans to be a “loving and supportive parent” to his newborn daughter.
Grohl, who has three daughters with wife Jordyn Blum, said he loves his family and is “doing all I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
“I recently became a father to a daughter born outside of marriage,” he wrote in the post. “I intend to be a loving and supportive parent to her.”
“I love my wife and children and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
He added: “Thank you for your consideration for all the children involved as we move forward together, Dave.”
Grohl has been married to film director Blum since 2003.
The rocker drummed in pioneering grunge band Nirvana from 1990 until lead singer Kurt Cobain's death in 1994 at the age of 27.
He later formed the band Foo Fighters and was responsible for the music on a number of hit albums, including their latest, 2023's But Here We Are.
