Dave Portnoy lands $1.35 million for bet on Masters champion

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy gleefully congratulated Scottie Scheffler on his Masters win in a video posted to his X account.

Scheffler’s second career major championship win comes just as Portnoy looks to cash in on a bet that paid off $1.35 million after the world’s No. 1 golfer won his first green jacket in three years. It is highly likely that he was excited about it.

In the video, Portnoy waves a towel, shouts “Bravo Scotty,” and begins clapping.

Portnoy had bet $300,000 on Scheffler to win at +450 odds, which followed his winning bet when Collegiate Conn won the March Madness title.

According to his graphics, he has already won $2.1 million on the UConn bet, and when combined with Sunday’s winnings, Portnoy has pocketed a whopping $3.51 million in seven days.

But the gamble may have been a risky one for Portnoy.

There was also a possibility that Scheffler would withdraw before the final round.

He planned to leave the tournament if his wife gave birth.

Scheffler finished the tournament at 11 under par, becoming the fourth-youngest player to win multiple Masters titles.
