Dave Portnoy sides with Trump following heated Oval Office clash with Zelensky

Dave Portnoy praised President Trump and Vice President JD Vance for how he handled the explosive clash with Ukrainian President Voldimi Zelensky at the White House on Friday.

The founder of Barstool's Sports targeted Zelensky for more than seven minutes of rant on Saturday, but claimed he understood both sides of the conflict as he sympathized with the devastation that Ukraine had endured since the 2022 Russian invasion.

Portnoy compared the explosion to watching “Bravo TV” and added that it was the “most surreal” thing he's ever seen in politics.

“I think Trump and Vance handled this as much as they could.” Portnoy states in a video posted to X.

“It's not just about getting a Steamroll to Zelensky at the expense of completing the transaction. If that means you have to throw some flowers at Putin, then so too.”

Portnoy added that he was “offended” if, like Trump, the world leaders were unable to thank the “billions of dollars” that diverged to support the wars of other countries.

A screaming match broke out between trio of oval office leaders to create a joint US Ukraine Fund that invests in extracting the country's rare earth mineral supply.

Trump argues that the deal is essential to repay the US over $180 billion in American aid sent to Kyiv since the start of the war.

The Vice President accused Zelensky of not benefiting from American support.

Zelensky left the White House and canceled the planned joint meeting.

“I'm more on Trump's side than Zelensky,” Portnoy said.

“It seems we can put bills into action and last forever. Clearly, what the old administration did is not helping to end this conflict.”

Portnoy criticized the Biden administration for slandering President Putin and slandering the opportunity to waste it to work with Russia to achieve peace. He then welcomed Trump to label the Kremlin as a dictator and to hesitate with his diplomacy.

The social media personality also denounced Zelensky's attire at the White House.

“I can say anything about Trump. He personally takes signs of disrespect,” Portnoy insisted.

“He's so much about respecting other things. So Zelensky appears and he wears his sweatshirt and his conventional clothes. It essentially says, “I'm at war. I don't have time to play politics or anything else,” he continues.

“To me, this is stupid. We're at war, and you're beginning to meet the new administration, and that's a sign of disrespect that Trump doesn't show the same level of respect as the oval office he thinks fits.”

Portnoy understands that Ukraine is “through hell and his back,” but Zelensky said he believes he should “show some degree of respect” to countries that need support and assistance.

“They should pay tribute and appreciate American taxpayers,” Portnoy said.

“Trump has made it very clear that he wants diplomacy. He wants to end his debts. He wants to end this war.”
