Dave Portnoy was not a fan of Beyoncé’s NFL halftime show

Christmas Day was ushered in by Beyoncé's performance worthy of a Super Bowl halftime show.

However, one prominent sports media figure was not a fan of the iconic singer's performance.

In fact, Dave Portnoy thinks Beyoncé hasn't accomplished much in over a decade.

As Beyoncé performed the hit song from her album Cowboy Carter at Houston's NRG Stadium during halftime of the Texans-Ravens game, the Barstool Sports founder shared her thoughts on social media.

“Beyoncé has been missing since Destiny's Child,” Portnoy wrote to X about Beyoncé's former music group, which officially disbanded 18 years ago.

The show, produced as part of Netflix's exclusive Christmas Games, also starred Post Malone, Shabouzi, Rayna Roberts, Tanner Adele, Britney Spencer and Tierra Kennedy.

Beyoncé's daughter Blue Ivy Carter also showed up to dance.

The set list also included the hit song “Texas Hold'em,” but that didn't stop Portnoy from criticizing him.

“The shred line is open for Beyoncé's performance,” he wrote in a follow-up post promoting the convocation show he will host with former NFL coach Jon Gruden.

This isn't the first time Portnoy has held this belief, as during the 2023 Super Bowl he wrote: “Rihanna > Beyoncé. We're not particularly close,” he said during the former's halftime show.

Whether Portnoy is a fan of the singer or not, Beyoncé is a popular NFL player, performing at the 2013 Super Bowl and appearing as a guest star alongside Bruno Mars and Coldplay three years later. .

Beyoncé's husband, rapper and music mogul Jay-Z, has been involved with the NFL since 2019, with his company Roc Nation producing the league's entertainment, including the Super Bowl halftime show.
