Dave Ramsey calls out ‘whiners on TikTok’ after pushing back on his financial advice

Personal finance expert Dave Ramsey on Wednesday fired back at Millennial and Gen Z “TikTok whiners” who called his financial advice “bullshit.”

“Some of them are [younger generations] That’s the worst. they are really bad. So their participation trophies, they live in their mom’s basement and they don’t understand why they can’t buy a house because they don’t work, things like that,” he said.

The CEO and founder of Ramsey Solutions addressed young critics who claim his advice is unfeasible in today’s economic climate.

“I’ve been doing this job for 35 years, and there’s always a group of people who say you can’t do that,” Ramsey told “The Bottom Line” co-hosts Dagen McDowell and Sean Duffy.

Ramsey said social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram are giving voice to critics, suggesting they are “doing it.”

“Well, I mean, you can find a lot of fun stuff about me on all kinds of social media. I’m good at clickbait, so it works really well.”

But Ramsey said that despite some complaints about Gen Z and Millennials, they are a “great generation.”

“What we see in both of them is that some of them are very serious people and very good with money,” Ramsey asserted.

“They believe in it. They believe in saving. They believe in investing. They believe in free enterprise,” he explained.

He went on to praise the Millennials and Gen Z people who work at Ramsey Solutions, claiming they are “incredible.”

“When you see a whining segment on TikTok or something, it’s because you don’t want to face the fact that you have to control the person in the mirror,” he says.
