David Beckham has surgery for a past soccer injury from his time with England

Victoria Beckham posted a heartfelt photo on social media this past Friday as her husband, David Beckham, is recuperating in a hospital. She captioned the Instagram story, “Give me your daddy a good night.”

David underwent surgery to address issues stemming from injuries he sustained during his football career in England. Back in May 2003, he broke his wrist while playing in a match against South Africa in Durban.

In the shared image, David is seen smiling from a hospital bed, wearing a gown and having a blue garment draped around his neck. Victoria also included a second picture of him with a beaded bracelet, accompanied by the hopeful message, “it’s going to work out quickly.”

The former football star began his professional career with Manchester United in 1992, eventually retiring in 2013 after five years with LA Galaxy.

Earlier this month, David was knighted by King Charles III in recognition of his contributions to sports and charity, making him Sir David Beckham, while Victoria is now Lady Beckham. He expressed his humble gratitude, stating, “I grew up in East London with my parents and grandparents who were proud to be patriotic and British, so I wouldn’t have imagined receiving such a truly humble honor.”

Victoria has also taken the time to celebrate David on Father’s Day, posting a loving message, “Happy Father’s Day!” The couple has four children: Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, who is 13.
