David Beckham Defends Victoria During World Cup Reaction

David Beckham has clarified that his wife, Victoria, wasn’t asleep during a key moment in England’s World Cup match. They were present at the quarter-final against Norway in Miami on July 11, where Jude Bellingham scored the decisive goal in the third minute of extra time. The atmosphere was electric, with fans erupting in celebration.

However, Victoria Beckham appeared unfazed. While David, 51, jumped and celebrated energetically, Victoria, 52, stayed seated with a neutral expression.

This moment quickly went viral online, largely due to her lack of reaction. Comedian Jenny Johnson even joked about the former Spice Girl’s “contagious” smile, but David stepped in to defend her in the comments, saying, “She was celebrating in her heart, I promise,” adding a crying-laughing emoji. “Her reaction was slightly slower than mine.”

Following the game, later photos show Victoria standing and applauding alongside their children, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 15. Both David and Victoria were also seen sharing a hug.

One comment that generated buzz below David’s post noted, “She’s seen enough football in her life which means she doesn’t get excited when my husband takes me to the office.” Victoria has previously talked about her stoic nature in the Netflix series, mentioning that while she feels many emotions internally, they don’t always show externally. “I’ve been looking miserable for years now because this guy always goes to the left when we’re on the red carpet,” she said, referencing David. “Now I don’t realize that when I laugh, I laugh from the left side… As a result, I look so grumpy because I’m smiling inside, but no one sees it.”
