David Del Rio made a sudden return to Instagram to share images from a recent family holiday, following his dismissal from ‘Matlock’ due to sexual assault allegations.
On Saturday, he shared a photo of himself with his wife, Katherine Del Rio, and their daughters, Lilliam Kelly Wallace, 2, and Coco, 11 months. He captioned the post, “Belated Thanksgiving fun! Thank you so much to my family for always being there for my girls and me.”
In the cheerful family photo, the group posed with a large inflatable gingerbread man, and David, aged 38, appeared to be in high spirits.
Since being removed from the CBS show in October, following accusations from co-star Leah Lewis, 28, Del Rio had largely stayed off social media.
CBS confirmed to Page Six that Del Rio had “exited the series,” but provided no further information at that time.
Reports indicate that an internal investigation by CBS preceded his departure.
Del Rio’s character, Billy Martinez, will reportedly be removed from the show when production resumes for the second half of the season, which began airing on October 12 and included seven episodes before wrapping up on December 4.
Right after the news broke about Del Rio’s firing, Lewis expressed to her followers that she was “moving on.” Sources indicated that their alleged issues reportedly occurred on Paramount property on September 26.
In a reflective social media post, Lewis stated, “My mom is here. We move forward in love and strength. I’m okay,” alongside a picture of her and her mother. She thanked everyone for their support.
However, Katherine, David’s wife, publicly criticized Lewis, labeling her as “the most disturbing human being.” Although Del Rio has not commented regarding the allegations, his wife has shared her opinions about him on social media, describing him as “the most insecure human being I have ever met.”
