2025 Daytona 500 Storyline

Like many previous articles in Great American Race, the storyline starts with drivers still seeking victory in the Daytona 500. KyleBusch has won over 200 wins since his days in the Xfinity and Craftsman Truck series in the Cup Series, has the Cup Series title and was also the WWE 24/7 champion.

However, he has never won the Daytona 500 and is now marking his 20th attempt. Bush and Branny are one of our favourites of articles this season.

Brad Keselowski and Martin Truex Jr. are also pairs of Keselowski in 2012 and Treux in 2017, the winners of the Cup Series, who have never won the Great American Race. Truex appeared at the end of the nearest race loss in Daytona's history. Truex announced his retirement from full-time racing at the end of last season, but has returned in search of his first 500 wins.

He also races with a heavy heart as his father, Martin Trueks Sr. passed away last month.

Truex is not the only part-time racer on the field as Jimmie Johnson returns to another Daytona 500.

Next is Heliokastronev. The four-time Indianapolis 500 winners were unable to qualify for the Daytona 500, but as the special 41st participant where “world-class drivers” can receive provisional locations, the new rules It's on the field thanks to it.

With Castroneves being the 41st driver on the field, 43 cars are standard in 2015, meaning that today's Daytona 500 is the biggest field. Castroneves' Sunday effort, and all the drivers that end under him move up in order.

Still, if Castroneves draws out an astonishing victory, he will be the third driver to win both the Indianapolis 500 and the Daytona 500, along with AJ Foyt and Mario Andretti. Four-time Indianapolis winner Voyt added the Daytona 500 to his massive resume with his 1972 Great American Race victory.

As for Andretti, the 1967 Daytona 500 was his first major victory in motorsports. He followed that with a victory at Indianapolis two years later.
