The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department ask He has appealed for the public's help in investigating the “suspicious” death of a mother-of-three.
Police said they were called around 4:19 a.m. Thursday to a report of a body at an apartment complex near the intersection of Spencer Street and East Reno Avenue, near Harry Reid International Airport.
“It's a very sick crime. Was she dropped off there? Did it happen near here? It's very gruesome.”
Upon arrival, a woman's body was found inside a luggage bag. Paramedics arrived, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Due to the suspicious nature of the death, the homicide unit took over the investigation. The Clark County Coroner later identified the woman as 46-year-old Kristen Aveler.

“Unfortunately, as I was about to go back to work, I noticed a white tent standing up, and usually that's just a sign of something a little more serious, so I thought there was a body there. '' she said. “This is a very gruesome crime. Was she dropped off there? Was it done near here? Very gruesome.”
She further said that the area is usually quiet.
“I love this neighborhood. It's a really quiet street, so I was a little worried that something like this would happen so close to my house,” one neighbor said.
A former neighbor told KLAS that the trucking company owned by Avelar and her husband has gone out of business. Neighbors also said Ms. Avelar was the mother of three children.
