December Social Security Payments Overview

December Payment Schedule

Here’s when checks will be sent out in December:

• December 1: SSI payments will be issued to eligible beneficiaries.
• December 3: Retirement benefits for those who have been receiving them since before May 1997.
• December 10: Retirement, spousal, and survivor benefits for individuals born between the 1st and 10th.
• December 17: Payments for those with birthdays from the 11th to the 20th.
• December 24: Benefits for individuals born from the 21st to the end of the month.
• December 31: SSI payments will be disbursed to those eligible for January.
