On Monday, Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) appeared on FNC's “The Story” and on the eve of the New Hampshire primary, favored former President Donald Trump over former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley. He spoke about the decision he supported.
The South Carolina Republican said he made this policy based on “the best interests of America's future.”
“Well, I didn't make a decision based on my best interest, I didn't make a decision based on Nicki's best interest, I didn't make a decision based on Donald Trump's best interest,” he said. said. “My decision to support Donald Trump was about what was in the best interest of America's future. And the more I thought about it, the more I actually came to two conclusions. One was to stay on the sidelines, and the other was to support Donald Trump.”
“There were three very specific reasons why I did it,” added Tim Scott. “First, when I fought for Opportunity Zones to bring more resources to the poorest Americans, Donald Trump said yes. President Donald Trump said yes when I wrote about the personal aspects of the tax law, which would reduce the percentage. If you look around the world, in the Middle East, in Eastern Europe, and in the Indo-Pacific, peace, peace, and peace, stability. Yes. Why? President Trump brought stability because he understood peace through strength. That's missing. We need four more years of that.
