The post was later deleted, but one comment from the community read: “He's dragging the team down the standings. They're struggling.”

Prior to Thursday night's game, Los Angeles RamsAsked to elaborate more on what was said in the post, Samuel admitted he was feeling “frustrated.”
“You read what you read. It's definitely a little frustrating.”

Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Tuesday that he understands that “Devo is saying that.”
“Devo wants to help us, but the only way he can help us is by running the ball more. We want to get him the ball more and we're going to keep working to do that.”
Mr. Shanahan added that Mr. Samuel should have kept the matter quiet, but called the incident a “under the bridge situation.”

Brock Purdy, who appears to have been the target of Samuel's post, echoed that sentiment.

“Devo and I talk all the time and he's like one of my best friends on this team. I love Devo and what he's done for me and helped me. I really love you,” the quarterback said Tuesday.
“I think he's right. He's doing a great job of what we're asking him to do offensively right now. And he's not struggling or anything. But with a player like Ricky, you never know. As I said, that's all.” [Pearsall] Last year I played a little bit with Aiyuk. Throughout the season, I think there will be moments when the players can't get the ball, and depending on the scheme and defensive scheme, there will be moments when the players will be able to get the ball. So I want to get the ball to Devo on every play if I can. I want him to break every record possible. I want Devo to do what Devo did, and I want all of us to do that with this building. So, the match went like this. But I love the player, so I'm going to do everything I can to give him the ball.”
