Injuries are starting to mount on the 49ers' offensive line.
San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters on Monday that star wide receiver Deebo Samuel will miss “two weeks” due to a calf injury sustained in Sunday's game against the Vikings.
Samuel has 13 catches for 164 yards and a rushing touchdown this season.
The 49ers play the Rams on Sunday and host the Patriots in Week 4.
The 49ers placed running back Christian McCaffrey on injured reserve over the weekend due to a calf strain and Achilles tendonitis.
McCaffrey will miss four games, including the loss to Minnesota.
“It's something we're evaluating right now,” Shanahan told reporters on Friday before McCaffrey was officially placed on injured reserve.[Thursday] “It's been a bad day for him. The pain has been intermittent but yesterday was the worst. We'll be talking about it together in the next 24 hours.”
McCaffrey mentioned the long-term when talking about missing San Francisco's season-opening win over the Jets last Monday night before being placed on injured reserve.

“I'm prepared to play every week,” McCaffrey said last Wednesday. “There were weeks where I wasn't feeling well enough to even do a walk-through and I played the full game. But I woke up and my body was ready to do some really good things. Mentally I'm always ready to play. But I woke up and it was a really tough decision as a group.”
“It's disappointing not to be able to play but I'm looking at it as a chess move and hopefully it will help me for the rest of the season.”
