‘Deeply Offensive’ that ‘Felon’ Trump Gets to Stand Next to the Actual President

MSNBC host Joy Reid said on “The Leadout” Wednesday that it would be “deeply uncomfortable” to have “felon” former President Donald Trump standing next to President Joe Biden at the debate.

Reid said: “Mary Trump’s book conveys that the word that hurts Trump the most is failure. Failure was not tolerated in that family. Trump is sensitive to failure and not being loved. He is very dependent. There do seem to be keywords that Biden can use. Failure is one, but felon seems like a good word too. Are the Biden campaign drumming these words into Trump to haunt him?”

“You can’t have a candidate with too much on their mind, and the most important thing is that Biden puts in a good, strong performance,” commentator Jennifer Palmieri said. “If something goes wrong and he’s embarrassed, that’s not as important as the contrast between the two of them and him hitting the key points.”

She added, “Biden is already good on this one. He has no respect for Donald Trump. He comes from a wealthy family and grew up with no respect for anyone who didn’t work hard. This is ingrained. I don’t think he’s as scared of Trump as Republicans want to say.”

“Are you as upset as I am that this person who is a convicted felon and a sexual assault convict is standing next to the president himself and we have to take him seriously? There’s something deeply uncomfortable about this,” Reid said.
