Deion Sanders Updates on Health and Recovery
Deion Sanders is making progress in his recovery from an undisclosed health issue.
As the head coach of Colorado Football, he has been engaging in rehabilitation activities while wearing a weighted vest. On Saturday, he shared a photo on Instagram featuring himself alongside his son Deion Jr., both sporting the vest.
“All the little steps I took my son were there, so we decided to keep taking them!” Sanders wrote in the post. He also mentioned that the #coachprime merchandise sold out quickly at the stadium.
In another update on June 26, Sanders referenced his health while advertising a sponsorship for Energy Drinks, again while donning the weighted vest.
“It’s close to one level every day,” he commented. “I’m walking through it! Our team is working incredibly hard, so I need to match their energy!”
Since April, Sanders has faced challenges, losing his job and having to cancel his annual Youth and High School camp in June. He missed a scheduled appearance in Florida and is now recuperating in Texas.
“He will tell you quickly enough what he has gone through,” Deion Jr. remarked at the start of June.
Moreover, he was unable to attend the wedding of former Buffalo player Travis Hunter in Tennessee in May. “He knows why we couldn’t be there,” Deion Jr. shared on his YouTube channel post-wedding.
Back in 2021, the 57-year-old had surgery to amputate two toes due to a blood clot. More recently, in July 2023, he had to undergo emergency surgery for a blood clot in his leg, missing the Pac-12 Conference Media Event as a result.
On Sunday, Sanders shared a series of heartwarming photos with his grandson on Instagram, expressing, “I’m here and I’ll make the baby smile because I still have a chance. #coachprime #geandhitta.”
The timeline for his full return remains uncertain. However, he is slated to appear at the Big 12 Conference Media Event in Frisco, Texas, on July 9. On June 11, he reassured fans on X, saying, “Everything is fine and it continues to happen.”
