Delegates seen wearing ear bandages at Republican convention in solidarity with Trump

Several Republican National Convention (RNC) delegates, including Arizona’s Stacey Goodman and Joe Neglia, were seen wearing ear bandages similar to those worn by former President Donald Trump after he was injured in an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.

“When Trump walked into the room yesterday and there was an outpouring of love in the room, I thought, ‘What can I do to honor the truth? What can I do?'” Neglia told Fox News Digital. “And then I saw the bandages and I thought, I can do that, too. So I wore one just to honor Trump and show sympathy and solidarity.”

Neglia said he made the bandages on his way to Milwaukee, where the party’s convention is being held this week. Trump is wearing a bandage over his right ear, where the bullet shot by suspect Thomas Matthew Crooks pierced the skin.

“There are only two genders, so there’s a male version and a female version!” Neglia said. Other attendees were spotted wearing the costumes.

Trump received another warm welcome from delegates to the Republican National Convention on Tuesday night, where lawmakers, activists and ordinary Americans spoke about immigration, crime and the fentanyl crisis, fitting with the evening’s theme, “Make America Safe Again.” This time, Trump arrived with his newly-selected running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, and sat in the Trump family box.

Trump arrived on the second day of the convention just in time to hear speeches from Sen. Ted Cruz, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson and his daughter-in-law Lara Trump.

Trump also heard from his last remaining rival, former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley, who dropped out of the race, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who challenged him for the Republican nomination, both of whom now support the former president and are further unifying the Republican Party around him.

Pelosi said she was “confident that Biden will lose” and was “on the phone negotiating to get Biden voted out of the election.”

Republican lawmakers enthusiastically supported Trump, with many thanking God for his narrow escape from an assassination attempt over the weekend. They also denounced President Biden’s “soft on crime” policies and the crisis at the southern border, two key issues at the center of Republican policy.

“He inspired a movement,” Rubio said in his speech.
