DoorDash Disables Account After Courier’s Controversial Claims
DoorDash has deactivated the account of a delivery courier who allegedly boasted online about canceling orders meant for federal employees.
The courier, who goes by the name Nixxslingerland on Threads, made a claim about canceling an order intended for a local Department of Homeland Security (DHS) detention facility on July 6. In a post, they expressed satisfaction in “having orders canceled and food donated.” Not long after, TikTok’s Libs shared a screenshot on X, tagging DoorDash to question if such behavior was permissible according to their policy. DoorDash responded quickly, confirming the individual was indeed a courier for the service.
According to Nixxslingerland’s post, they said, “I delivered another canceled Nazi DoorDash to a free food pantry and they gave me this big bag of M&Ms in return.” They also added, “I love communism.”
Another post followed on the same day, stating, “For those who don’t know, unfortunately there is a detention center very close to my town, and I have contacted support every time to tell them that the place needs to be completely cleared. I don’t think they will do that, but it still feels good to cancel an order and have the food donated.”
This courier’s Facebook profile indicated they live in Batavia, New York, which is near the Buffalo Service Processing Center, currently a facility used by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
In response to the outcry over the original post, DoorDash confirmed on July 8 that the courier’s account had been disabled. The company stated, “Abusing the safety deallocation feature to intentionally cancel orders or redirect food based on its destination is theft and violates both our Community Guidelines and Platform Access Policy.” They further mentioned that the individual was disrespectful toward the support team while they were trying to address the issue, which constituted another violation.
Furthermore, on social media, DoorDash noted that they appreciated TikTok’s Libs for their informative posts. The courier identifies as an “anarcho-communist,” stating they do not subscribe to “liberal nonsense.”
The courier’s Instagram bio identifies them as “not a girl (agender, queer),” a “sad stoner,” and a “cat parent.” They also link to another account showcasing photos related to drag queens and anti-ICE protests.
A spokesperson from the Batavia Police Department mentioned they hadn’t received any theft reports linked to DoorDash, while the Department of Homeland Security directed inquiries back to DoorDash.
