Dell reveals $250 investment for countless children through Trump Accounts

Michael Dell and Wife Launch Initiative for Young Americans

On Independence Day, tech magnate Michael Dell, along with his wife Susan, revealed a new “public-private partnership” aimed at providing a significant economic opportunity for young Americans.

Dell, who heads Dell Technologies, announced that the first 25 million American children who opt for a Trump Account will receive $250 each. In a post on X, he stated, “This will make every child a shareholder in American capitalism, the greatest engine of prosperity the world has ever known.” He expressed a vision of giving the younger generation tangible rights in the economy, highlighting pathways to education, homeownership, entrepreneurship, and lasting wealth.

The official unveiling of the Trump Account coincided with the Fourth of July, marking the beginning of a program designed to support young Americans financially. This initiative allows all U.S. citizens born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028, to claim a government-funded $1,000 investment when they enroll.

Parents can sign their children up during tax filings and will manage the account until their child reaches 18. Although there are no obligatory contributions, parents can invest up to $5,000 annually, which will be allocated directly into American companies listed on the stock market.

President Trump has projected that over the next 15 years, this program could shift $3 trillion to $4 trillion of wealth into the hands of younger generations. He remarked that the Trump Account could potentially be remembered as a groundbreaking policy innovation in years to come.

Dell had previously committed more than $6 billion to support this initiative, describing it as a unifying source of hope and optimism for future generations of children. The impact of the Dells’ private contributions, coupled with the government’s launch of the program, has drawn positive responses, with Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) calling it “an extraordinary birthday present celebrating the greatest nation in the history of the world.”
