Even though the race has been called, incumbent Democratic Sen. Bob Casey has refused to concede, sending out a massive fundraising email on Saturday and ponytailing up to his supporters, saying, “This PA Senate race is over.'' Please make sure that every single vote is counted.”

Keystone conditions require an automatic recount if the margin of victory is less than 0.5%. With 99% of ballots counted, Mr. McCormick leads Mr. Casey by more than 41,000 votes, just above the threshold at which counting will begin.

Even if a recount were to occur, it's unlikely Mr. Casey would get enough votes to change the result, but the legal battle could leave the state's taxpayers on the hook for a seven-figure bill. .

The last statewide recount, which began in 2022 on behalf of Mr. McCormick in the first challenge against Dr. Mehmet Oz, cost the state about $1 million. KDKA News reported.

“Election Day has passed. [sic]But the fight for democracy continues. Here are some of the things my office has done so far: Thursday: Intervened in right-wing litigation in Pennsylvania,” Elias said in the article. Saturday's X Post.

“The Pennsylvania Senate race is not over yet,” Elias warned. ×post Thursday. He also referred to a statement from the Pennsylvania Secretary of State's office. say there was “At least 100,000 votes have yet to be adjudicated.”

Mr. Elias has a long history of providing shillings to a rogue's gallery of Democratic interests and causes.

In 2022, the Black Lives Matter movement hired him to clean up their shady finances, and during the 2016 presidential campaign, he was involved in the infamous “Steel” campaign that sparked the years-long Russian collusion hoax against Donald Trump. He was responsible for commissioning the investigation that led to the document. Mr. Trump.

Mr. Elias has also led efforts in multiple states to challenge voter ID laws, an expensive project generously funded by Democratic megadonor George Soros. The Washington Post reported.

Critics pointed to his hypocrisy, pointing out that after the 2020 election, Elias loudly criticized Trump's legal efforts to recount votes in several battleground states. “It’s dangerous to democracy.”

“Mr. Elias is part of the legal organization of the Kamala Harris campaign,” said Tom Fitton, president of the nonprofit advocacy group Judicial Watch. “One of the big lies of the left is that they support democracy, but what they support is the use of the law to gain and maintain their power, and that's what Mark That's Elias's claim.

McCormick spokeswoman Elizabeth Gregory called Elias a “fraudster” pursuing “frivolous legal challenges without merit.”

“Mr. McCormick's lead is irreversible, which is why the Associated Press called the race. Sen.-elect McCormick is honored to have been elected by Pennsylvanians from across the commonwealth, and to represent them. We are making progress,” she said.

Representatives for Mr. Elias and the Casey campaign did not respond to requests for comment.
