Dem Mayor Vows Resistance, Police Blockades Against Trump Deportations

Denver's Democratic mayor has vowed to use the city's police force and organize civilian protesters to block enforcement of federal immigration law in the city.

“More than we have, [Denver police] If we station them at the county line to keep them out, that means there are 50,000 Denver residents there,” Mayor Mike Johnston said.

Democrats are trying to bring an influx of immigrants into the country ahead of President Trump's inauguration. Guest John Binder

“It's like a Tiananmen moment,” he exclaimed, comparing President Trump's enforcement pledge to the 1989 massacre of Chinese democracy supporters by the Chinese government.

Apparently Johnston is playing himself as a modern-day John C. Calhoun, saying he plans to push city police and “community volunteers” into his own little Confederate army to take on ICE agents. .

Johnston insisted he has no intention of abandoning the sanctuary city policy and won't be “bullied” by the incoming Trump administration.

“We're not selling these values to anyone,” Johnston said. said Denverite, according to Fox News. “We're not going to be bullied into changing them.”

Then he issued a stern warning.

“Rather than have DPD stationed at the county line to stop them, we'll have 50,000 Denver residents there. It's like Tiananmen Square with roses and guns,” he said. is said to have spoken. “You'd have all the Highland moms who came for immigration. We don't want to mess with them.”

This is the same mayor who defunded the police department to pay for more giveaways to illegal aliens.

So far, the Denver Police Department has not commented on Johnston's plan to transform its officers into a new deactivated shock force.

The mayor is not the only radical left official to publicly call for resistance to federal law.

The far-left Los Angeles City Council also intervened this week to defend its “sanctuary city” status, voting unanimously to fully implement the policy in the crime-ridden city. The vote was aimed at sending a signal to the Trump administration that its officials would stand up to federal authorities on immigration issues.

Many left-wing governors in deep blue states have similarly made their allegiance to illegal immigrants clear by announcing plans to resist ICE and efforts to repatriate millions of illegal immigrants.

The list includes Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, Colorado Governor Jared Polis, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, California Governor Gavin Newsom and Washington Governor Bob Ferguson. It is.

Radically woke Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has also vowed to resist President Trump's policies. Her declaration prompted Trump's next border czar, Tom Homan, to warn all vocal Democrats that the kind of resistance they claim is against the law.

Homan told Democrats, “It's a felony to harbor or conceal illegal aliens from ICE. Read the statute. Don't cross that line.”
