Denver's Democratic mayor has vowed to use the city's police force and organize civilian protesters to block enforcement of federal immigration law in the city.

Apparently Johnston is playing himself as a modern-day John C. Calhoun, saying he plans to push city police and “community volunteers” into his own little Confederate army to take on ICE agents. .
Johnston insisted he has no intention of abandoning the sanctuary city policy and won't be “bullied” by the incoming Trump administration.

Then he issued a stern warning.

The mayor is not the only radical left official to publicly call for resistance to federal law.
The far-left Los Angeles City Council also intervened this week to defend its “sanctuary city” status, voting unanimously to fully implement the policy in the crime-ridden city. The vote was aimed at sending a signal to the Trump administration that its officials would stand up to federal authorities on immigration issues.
Many left-wing governors in deep blue states have similarly made their allegiance to illegal immigrants clear by announcing plans to resist ICE and efforts to repatriate millions of illegal immigrants.
