Demi Engeman Talks Awkward Thanksgiving After Co-Star’s Revelation
Demi Engeman, known from “Secrets of a Mormon Wife,” recently shared how “awkward” Thanksgiving was for her family. This came just after her co-star Jesse Gatikaula disclosed the “Fruity Pebbles” story.
“It’s an uncomfortable topic, I won’t lie,” she mentioned to Entertainment Tonight, reflecting on how she had to attend Thanksgiving dinner the following day. “It wasn’t ideal.”
Despite the situation’s tension, Engeman, 31, managed to make light of the awkwardness. She mentioned on TikTok that they, at dinner, ended up discussing more personal subjects to ease the mood.
She even brought Fruity Pebbles Rice Krispie Treats as dessert, which was a fun touch amidst the unease.
“It’s out there now, and it’ll certainly get talked about,” she continued when discussing why she chose to confirm Gatikaula’s comments. “I could’ve been more lighthearted about everything, which has been good.”
Engeman noted that the topic of Fruity Pebbles had been floating around in their conversations for quite a while. “It was a private moment we didn’t intend to share, but now we just have to own it and enjoy it,” she added.
The drama initially ignited when Engeman claimed on social media that Gatikaula was envious of her. This prompted Gatikaula to publicly reveal details of Engeman’s intimate experiences with her husband, Brett Engeman.
In response to a fan’s question about the meaning behind the Season 1 innuendo, Gatikaula didn’t hold back. “She wants to be a cheapskate, so let me just say that Grandpa Brett likes drinking piss like it’s dirty soda,” she declared on her Instagram Story.
Engeman later took to her Instagram to acknowledge the truth in Gatikaula’s claims, while also clarifying that her encounter was “only once, behind closed doors, in a private, consensual experience in 2018” during their marriage. She indicated that she had previously confided this to a former friend before issues arose between them, suggesting that Gatikaula’s revelations were a diversion from her own affair that had recently come to light.
Demi made this remark in reference to Gatikaula’s recent affair with Vanderpump Villa star Marciano Brunette. While both women have exchanged jabs on air and online, Engeman stated she is “100 percent” open to reconciling with Gatikaula.
However, back in May, Gatikaula expressed on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea that she could “never be friends” with Engeman again, stating, “And I’m a pretty forgiving person. It’s hard for me to say that.”
