Democrat-backed candidate reelected as Wisconsin schools superintendent

According to Decise Desk HQ, Jill Fullultly was predicted to win the reelection of Wisconsin public coaching superintendent, challenger Brittany Kinser.

Though the race is technically independent, it was supported by the state Democrats and the Wisconsin Educational Association Council (WEAC), while Kinder, an education consultant who advocated for school choice, was supported by the National GOP among other groups.

The state-overse race has not attracted the same kind of attention as the Wisconsin Supreme Court competition, but elections are focused within the state, particularly because of future decisions last year that will change the way the state is assessed.

She was criticised critically by Republicans and Gov. Tony Evers after making changes that affected her state school exams. Previous exams were associated with benchmarks used in the national assessment of educational advancements, also known as the National Report Card.

But she says critics say it lowers state standards when measuring student performance, making it difficult to compare annual performance.
