Democrat Sen. Bob Casey Refuses to Concede Election He Lost

Despite The Associated Press acknowledging Republican Dave McCormick's victory in the critical Pennsylvania Senate race and his earlier statement that election deniers “shouldn't hold any office,” Bob Senator Casey continues to deny the results of his election loss.

Despite the Associated Press and networks reporting McCormick's victory, a spokesman for Casey disputed that the race was over.

“As Pennsylvania's Secretary of State stated this afternoon, there are still tens of thousands of ballots to be counted across the commonwealth, including provisional ballots, military and overseas ballots,” campaign spokeswoman Maddie McDaniel said in a statement. “This includes voting by mail and mail-in voting.” “This race is within half a point and cannot be called while the votes of thousands of Pennsylvanians are still being counted.”

Mr. Casey's election denialism comes after he previously argued that protecting democracy would be a key issue in his election campaign.

“We have to protect our democracy, protect the right to vote, and make sure those who don't respect the Constitution and the rule of law are held accountable,” he said in Pennsylvania in January. capital star reported.

Although Casey correctly predicted that election denialism would be “relevant to campaigns that I am actually a part of,” he mistakenly projected election denialism onto his opponents.

“I'm running against someone who is supported by election deniers, fake electors, who support my opponent, and I think that's going to be an important issue in the campaign.” he said.

Casey added, “Election deniers should not hold any office, from local to federal government.”

Before the call came from the Associated Press, McCormick declared victory with the writing on the wall.

“Mr. McCormick gained 30,679 votes, and that number is likely to increase as ruby-red Cambria County remains prominent,” Elizabeth Gregory, communications director for the McCormick campaign, said in a statement. “As the votes continue to be counted, no matter how you look at it, Dave McCormick will be the next senator from Pennsylvania.”

The Associated Press quickly came to the same conclusion. But Casey wasn't like that.

With over 95% of the votes cast, Mr. McCormick received 3,337,473 votes and Mr. Casey received 3,306,240 votes, a difference of 31,233 votes.
