Lori Chavez Deremar, the elected president Donald Trump to lead the Labor Department, began a procedural vote on Thursday with the help of Senate Democrats, moving forward with the nomination to the Senate floor.

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul was the only GOP Senator to vote against Chavez Deremar's nomination. In particular, Chavez Deremar reversed her position with a pro act when Paul pushed her about it on her at her confirmation hearing.

Chavez Deremar has also secured support from the Teamsters Union, the largest union in the United States.
