The outpouring of love and support for Kamala Harris in Hollywood over the past two days isn’t as sincere as it seems, according to a major film producer. In a rare moment of candor in Hollywood, Dana Brunetti said: The Social Network, Captain Phillipsand Fifty Shades of Grey MOVIE — Many Democrats in the entertainment industry have made it clear that privately they don’t want Kamala Harris to be the party’s nominee but won’t say so publicly for fear of being called racist or sexist.
He also blasted the Democratic Party for having a fear-driven groupthink mentality that stifles dissent and independent thought.
“The current Democratic Party is in disarray. They cannot run a party, much less a country. They have only themselves to blame for Trump’s victory in November,” the Oscar-nominated producer said. Said variety.
“Hollywood has always stoked fear, especially when it comes to politics. A lot of people don’t want Kamala Harris to be the nominee, but they’re also afraid of the repercussions of expressing their opinion, especially for minority women. The fear of being ostracized for expressing your opinion, and then at the same time having the audacity to call Republicans cultists because that’s acceptable, seems ludicrous to me.”
In the two days since Joe Biden announced he was dropping out of his reelection campaign, Kamala Harris has been aggressively promoting herself as the party’s nominee.
Her rapid rise to power was buoyed by significant support from Hollywood, with numerous celebrity donors and influencers, including George Clooney and Rob Reiner, lining up to support her.
Despite many supporters in the media, Harris remains stubbornly unpopular with voters on both sides of the aisle, consistently garnering lower approval ratings than the vastly less popular Biden. Her infamous 2020 presidential run was a failure for her to generate interest within her party, forcing her to withdraw early from the primary.
