Democrats slammed for not shutting down ‘Squad’ ‘antisemitism’ after synagogue clash: ‘There’s a connection’

Fox News contributor Marc Thiessen on “America’s Newsroom” on Monday criticized the Democratic caucus for failing to stop “anti-Semitic” rhetoric after Rep. Jamaal Bowman of New York made an expletive-filled tirade against pro-Israel groups at a rally with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York over the weekend.

AOC comes under fire for saying ‘false accusations’ of anti-Semitism are ‘made against people of color’

Mark Thiessen: Can you imagine what would happen if a sitting member of Congress stood up at a rally and said, “I’m going to show the NAACP the power of this district?” What provokes outrage, and this is the problem, is that Democrats are not policing their own movement and allowing anti-Semitism to run rampant in the halls of Congress. Jamaal Bowmanthat is the rest of the Squad. If someone had done what he did and targeted black people, that person would have been kicked off the committees and alienated from the Democratic caucus. When Rep. Steve King said in 2019 that he “doesn’t understand white supremacy and white people and all that stuff,” he was kicked off every committee by Republicans. Why didn’t the Democratic leadership do the same with Jamaal Bowman? Why didn’t they do it with Ilhan Omar? Why didn’t they do it with the rest of the Squad? They tolerate anti-Semitism within their own camp and then are surprised when anti-Semitic mobs surround synagogues in Los Angeles and beat up Jews. There is a connection between the two.

During the speech At an expletive-filled rally in the Bronx, Bowman blasted the American Israel Public Affairs Political Action Committee (AIPAC), a pro-Israel advocacy group that is backing his Democratic primary opponent, Westchester County Mayor George Latimer.

“We’re going to show f***ing AIPAC the power of the f***ing South Bronx,” Bowman said at a rally Saturday at St. Mary’s Park in Mott Haven. “You ask me why I’m being f***ing abusive. What am I supposed to do? They’re coming after me! They’re coming after my family! They’re coming after my children! Shouldn’t I fight back?”

“We’re going to show them who we are!” he added, bouncing around the stage.

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) endorsed Bowman in a progressive rally. The incumbent Democrat is trailing Latimer by double digits ahead of Tuesday’s primary in New York’s 16th Congressional District, which includes parts of Westchester County and the Bronx. A video that went viral also showed fellow “Squad” member Ocasio-Cortez forcefully letting her hair down, slamming the podium and knocking over a microphone. During her speech, she shouted out loud as sexually explicit lyrics from Cardi B’s song “Enough” played over the speakers.
