Democrats Urged Biden to Enter the Race as Harris Struggled, Constructed ‘Falsehoods upon Falsehoods’

Concerns Over Biden’s Cancer Diagnosis and Its Timing

While the recent announcement of former President Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis has garnered sympathy, it has also raised questions about the timing and reasons behind the disclosure.

Peter Schweizer highlights issues surrounding Biden’s integrity regarding health disclosures and media coverage, particularly in relation to new books by CNN’s Jake Tupper and Axios’ Alex Thompson.

“We’re being deceived,” Schweiser stated, referencing his earlier exposure to the Biden family’s influence in 2018.

Biden’s office revealed his cancer diagnosis on Sunday, coinciding with the release of his new book, Original Sin, according to reporters Thompson and Tupper.

Medical professionals suggest that Biden may have been aware of his diagnosis for several years, yet this information was concealed from the public. Additionally, there has been a lack of official acknowledgment regarding Biden’s cognitive decline. The book discusses attempts to mask Biden’s frailty, but critics argue that his struggles were evident and noted by both Republican politicians and independent journalists at the time. It’s reported that Tupper even engaged a “Crisis Public Relations Firm” to manage the backlash the book has faced.

The assumption that mainstream media was unaware of Biden’s mental decline is viewed by some as misleading on a large scale.

“Many people view this as the biggest political scandal in American history,” Schweiser remarked. “We had a similar situation with Woodrow Wilson after he suffered a stroke, but it was during a time of more extensive media coverage,” he added. “There has never been a cover-up of this magnitude in modern American politics. Its legacy media has failed to address these issues adequately.”

During Biden’s term, Tupper has strongly countered such claims. Just as discussions around media narratives are gaining traction, the Wall Street Journal published an investigative piece highlighting Biden’s cognitive decline.

Tupper’s story, which surfaced in early June, featured interviews with Biden’s close Senate friend, Senator Chris Coons (D-DE), who was invited to clarify these concerns rather than merely speculate.

In addition to Schweiser’s claims, Tupper was reportedly pursuing a story on Biden’s cognitive challenges at that time, raising questions about the authors’ rationale for the continuation of the narrative around Biden’s fitness for reelection.

Schweizer and Eggers previously released a significant book, Ceasefire, early last year, which addressed many of these issues even before concerns about Biden’s mental health became widely recognized. Written by experienced journalists, the book outlines the tensions between a centrist Democratic leader and the progressive shift within the party, noting that after George Floyd’s protests in 2020, Democrats decided there must be a black woman on the ticket, pointing to Kamala Harris as the only option.

As they observed, the Democratic hierarchy quickly realized that Biden would need to aim for a second term, fearing that Harris would struggle against Republican candidates, especially those associated with Trump.

The authors noted comments from those on Biden’s and Harris’ teams, indicating that Kamala was not prepared for her role. Concerns about her discipline, focus, and decisiveness were common, with some even branding her a “shallow narcissist.”

“Even if Joe Biden wished to change direction, it’s hard to believe that, in the wake of the cultural impacts of BLM and George Floyd, they would be stuck with Kamala Harris as a vice presidential pick,” Eggers observed. “The identity politics they are trying to enforce may ultimately backfire.”
