Dems Shifted on Border Because Migrants Got Bused to Their Cities

On CNN's “The Read” broadcast on Friday, CNN White House correspondent Priscilla Alvarez said Democrats have shifted to border issues since the Biden administration took office. Democrats across the country are now starting to voice concerns about what's happening at the border, as so many migrants are being sent across the border to Democratic-led cities. ”

“We've seen a shift within the Democratic Party over the past three years as the administration has dealt with multiple border crises,” Alvarez said. “The vice president is currently taking tough positions on the U.S.-Mexico border as he attempts to close the poll gap with former President Donald Trump, who often leads by double digits in terms of who voters trust. This is exactly the problem. ”

Host Jake Tapper then asked, “Why did she take this issue that way in 2019, and why did she evolve and… [has] A different position today? ”

Alvarez replied: “Well, when that question came up, she pivoted to the work of this administration, which, of course, didn't decriminalize crossing. But Jake, let's zoom out a little bit here. I say there is a need, because the Democratic Party today is not what it was when President Joe Biden took office, and of course there have been so many crises at the U.S.-Mexico border in the last three years. , and so many immigrants were being sent across the border to Democratic-led cities, so now Democrats across the country are starting to voice their concerns. What happens at the border?”
