Dems Should Be ‘More Respectful’ of Trump Supporters, Negative MAGA Talk Will Hurt Biden

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon told CNBC's “Squawk Box” Wednesday that Democrats need to be “more respectful” to supporters of former President Donald Trump. Told.

Dimon said, “I wish Democrats would think a little more carefully when they talk about MAGA. If you travel in this country, you understand. This country is incredible.”

He continued, “People are growing. They're hungry to grow. They keep innovating. It's everywhere. It's not just Silicon Valley. So we have this great hand. But when people say “MAGA,” they're actually looking at people who are voting for Trump, and they think they're voting, and they're basically making them a scapegoat. Yes, I think you are just like him. But I don't think they're voting for Trump because of his family values. If you just take a step back, be honest. He's kind of right about NATO. You're right about immigration in a sense. He grew the economy very well. Tax reform was successful. He was right about parts of China. ”

Dimon added, “I don't like what he's saying about Mexico. But he wasn't wrong on some of these important issues, and that's why people are voting for him. And the people I think people should have a little more respect for their fellow countrymen. And when you have people here, you should always ask “Why.” It's not an either/or thing: you support Trump, you don't support Trump. Why do you support Trump? ”

He concluded that “Democrats have done a pretty good job with those deplorables clutching Bibles, beer and guns.” I mean, could you please just stop doing that and actually be an adult and treat other people with respect and just listen a little bit? And I think it's going to have an impact on the economy, and I think there's going to be some negative talk about MAGA hurting Biden's campaign. ”
