CNN political commentator and former Obama adviser Van Jones said on CNN's “outfront” on Friday he was in fierce rage against Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) after Democrats voted for a Republican fundraising bill to prevent the federal government from shutting down.
Host Erin Burnett said, “How angry are Democrats at Schumer's leader?”
“I've never seen Democrats see this level of volcanic fury,” Jones said.
“It's been amazing,” Burnett said.
He continued. “We can get mad. We can get frustrated with each other. We want Mitch McConnell, so there's an angry volcanic eruption in Leader Schumer.”
He said, “I remember when Obama had all the cards, when Mitch McConnell drove Obama Nuts. He twisted his little finger, broke his knee cap and did something for Republicans when they shouldn't get an inch. They got miles. We have a Senate majority leader who is loved by this party, but we want someone to stand up to this bully. We'll stand up to this bully. We'll do something.”
Jones concluded: And I think Chuck Schumer fundamentally misunderstood the room. ”
