Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers Sued for Unpaid Rent

Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers are facing a lawsuit from their landlord, who claims the couple owes $84,000 in unpaid rent. This legal issue comes amidst their ongoing divorce proceedings.

As the couple continues to fight it out in court, it appears they owe several months’ rent for a luxury home in Calabasas that they rented back in 2020. According to the lawsuit, they are reportedly seven months behind on payments for the six-bedroom property, which had a monthly rent of $12,000.

John Curran, the landlord, is asking the court to evict Richards and Phypers. He also wants the judge to impose a daily fine of $400 until they vacate the house and return the keys.

Interestingly, Richards hasn’t lived in the home since 2023, having moved into a different place. However, she is said to have continued paying the bills, while Phypers and his family stayed there.

Richards and Phypers are also entangled in their own personal legal battles. Recently, a judge granted Richards a permanent restraining order against Phypers, which remains in effect until November 2030. This came after allegations that he shared private messages and photos of her without consent.

While the judge acknowledged the situation, emphasizing that no one should violate someone else’s privacy, he noted that Richards’s past experience in entertainment doesn’t change that principle.

Richards testified last month about how Phypers allegedly sought to tarnish her reputation during their relationship, even claiming he leaked intimate images of her.

In addition to these ongoing disputes, Phypers faces spousal abuse charges related to incidents from 2017 and 2022, and he was recently arraigned in connection with those cases. His next court appearance is set for December.

Reportedly, Phypers is also seeking spousal support while citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce, which he filed for shortly after Richards obtained her first restraining order against him.
