Dennis Haskins, Beloved ‘Saved by the Bell’ Star, Dies at 75

Dennis Haskins, widely recognized for his role as Principal Richard Belding in “Saved by the Bell,” has passed away at the age of 75.

In the show, his character frequently attempted to guide Zack Morris, portrayed by Mark-Paul Gosselaar, steering him away from trouble with his memorable line, “Hey, hey, hey, what is going on here?” as he rounded up Zack and his group of friends.

The specific circumstances of his death remain undisclosed.

“It’s a tragic loss. Everyone adored Mr. Belding, and those of us who knew Dennis loved him even more,” his agent, Jay Schachter, shared with TMZ.

“He was a wonderful person, and he had an immense love for his fans,” Schachter added.

“He was always available for them, no matter the situation. He was my client and close friend for over 20 years, and I will miss him deeply.”

Haskins made his debut in a 1979 episode of CBS’s popular series, “The Dukes of Hazzard.”

He first played Belding in the Disney Channel’s “Good Morning, Miss Bliss,” which was adapted after its first season. It later returned as “Saved by the Bell” on NBC, airing from 1989 to 1993.

He continued his role in “Saved by the Bell: The New Class” from 1993 to 2000, and made a nostalgic appearance in February 2015 on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” joining original cast members Gosselaar, Elizabeth Berkley, Mario Lopez, and Tiffani Thiessen.

Over his extensive career, Haskins accrued numerous credits in both film and television. His work includes appearances in Seth MacFarlane’s “A Million Ways to Die in the West,” “Mad Men,” “Hot in Cleveland,” and “New Girl.”

He was also featured in “I’m Dying Up Here,” “Robot Chicken” on Cartoon Network, and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

The actor is survived by his son, Dustin.
