Dennis Quaid is voting for Trump over weaponization of justice system: ‘People say he’s an a**hole, but he’s my a**hole!’

Hollywood actor Dennis Quaid said in an interview that he will vote for former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

Quaid made the comments while being interviewed on Piers Morgan’s show.

“Personally, I’m going to be voting for him in the next election,” Quaid said of Trump. “Absolutely.”

“We need to remember the better part of who we are.”

“Are you prepared for the inevitable backlash that will result from Trump?” Morgan asked.

“Everybody’s going to take a side in this election, and that makes sense. I wasn’t going to vote for Trump until I saw the weaponization of the justice system over politics. And as an American, I don’t think there will be a challenge to the Constitution,” Quaid replied.

“Trump is probably the most investigated person in the history of the world and yet investigators have not actually found any crimes against him,” Quaid added.

Morgan also said the lawsuit over alleged hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels was “pathetic” and irrelevant.

Before acknowledging that he voted for Trump, Quaid said Americans are too divided by politics and need to come together.

“We need to remember the better part of who we are,” Quaid said, quoting Abraham Lincoln.

“And we need to learn to work together and discuss our differences civilly. Thirty or 40 years ago, you had liberal Republicans and conservative Democrats and a lot of cross-party views,” he added, citing President Ronald Reagan’s famous meeting with Democratic leader Tip O’Neill.

“They were bitterly hostile during working hours, but it was resolved,” Quaid concluded.

“I wish we could all come together a little more.”

The Hollywood actor previously made headlines in April 2020 when he praised President Trump for his response to the coronavirus pandemic.

“I think the president is handling it well. We see him on TV every day and he’s engaged. The initial travel ban was a great idea. The president implemented it despite the protests against it,” Quaid said at the time.

“Maybe this is a chance for the country to come together again,” he added. “World War II brought that generation together and this may be the defining moment of our generation. I’m sure when this is all over, the world will be a different place and I hope we can all be a little more united.”

He went on to say that Reagan was his favorite president, on par with Presidents Franklin Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.
