Deported cannibal tried to consume himself during a flight, according to DHS secretary

A cannibal, detained by federal agents, reportedly attempted to eat himself during a deportation flight. This unusual incident was highlighted by Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem at a press conference held on Tuesday.

Noem shared details about the incident during a discussion with reporters, which also featured President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The roundtable focused on Florida’s new illegal immigration detention facility, nicknamed “Wannial Catraz.” Noem emphasized the importance of deporting dangerous individuals.

According to her, this cannibal caused self-inflicted injuries while in custody, necessitating medical attention. She suggested this incident reflects poorly on former President Joe Biden’s immigration policies.

Noem warned that immigrants who find themselves at facilities like “Self-Deport” or “Alligator Alcatraz” might face serious consequences during their time in the U.S. She mentioned a conversation with a former ICE agent about the cannibal incident: “They said they had restrained a cannibal and took him on a plane. While he was in his seat, he started eating himself and needed to see a doctor,” she said.

“This highlights the kind of individuals we have to deal with—dangerous people who shouldn’t be in our communities,” Noem added. She pointed out that the focus is on targeting serious offenders—murderers, rapists, traffickers, and drug dealers—to ensure they are removed from the country.

Noem expressed gratitude towards law enforcement and military personnel for their efforts in eradicating threats, encouraging other governors to collaborate with the federal government on immigration enforcement. “I hope to hear from governors wanting to replicate Florida’s approach,” she stated.

She described Florida’s Illegal Immigration Detention Center as a “state-of-the-art facility” capable of housing 3,000 individuals, asserting that efforts similar to these are necessary in other states.

The Department of Homeland Security, ICE, and related officials did not respond immediately to inquiries about the cannibal incident.
