Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and the state's Republican leader have reached an agreement on a proposal to tackle illegal immigration. The special session is scheduled to start on Wednesday.

The governor added that the proposed enactment will help Florida “help help the Trump administration fulfill its mandate that it must end the illegal immigration crisis entirely.
“There are some very strong measures that will be taken into consideration, such as making it a crime to enter Florida illegally. Other states are doing that and it's their turn to follow suites,” DeSantis said.
The proposal also ends “catches and releases for illegal criminal aliens,” and “requests all state and local law enforcement agencies to assist federal authorities in enforcement,” the governor added. .
DeSantis also noted “penals for the mayor, police and sheriff” and “suspensions and removal from duties” that do not comply with law enforcement.
The proposal “takes away illegal alien tuition fees in the state — it shouldn't have been enacted in the first place,” DeSantis continued. “They also make it a crime that has strengthened registering to vote as an illegal alien.”
