DeSantis Keeping ‘100% of the Promises’ Scared Big Donors to Haley

CNN political commentator Ana Navarro said Tuesday on “CNN This Morning” that Republican presidential candidate Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) threatened corporate donors and former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-S.C.) He said he was trying to shift support by “maintaining 100%” support for the state. That's the promise he made when passing the bill in Florida.

Navarro said, “Donald Trump lives on small donations. The people he deceived and deceived were convinced that he was this martyr, this Christ-like figure, doing everything for themselves.” They keep giving him their hard-earned money because they're led to believe they're taking care of it. DeSantis was actually based on those corporate donations. On his first day campaigning, he was in Florida. He assembled a large group of extremely wealthy people, corporate donors, and lobbyists in a room at the Four Seasons Hotel in Miami, California, and solicited money and donations from other wealthy people for him. Many of those players are now at Haley. He’s transferred, they’re going to stay there, and a two-point No. 2 spot in Iowa isn’t going to bring him back.”

She added: “It's very difficult to retain corporate donors when the basis of your campaign is to attack Disney, the state's largest company. Many who were giving him money from the business community I think people looked at this and said, “Wait, wait, wait, wait, I hope the same thing that he's doing in Florida, banning books, banning publications, happens nationally. No.'' The state's largest employer went after drag queens, went after college boards, and abolished DEI. We don't want this nationally. ” So he said he kept his promise 100%, but I think he overdid it. The Congress that allowed him to do it was probably very friendly to him. ”
