Despite State Focus on ‘Equity,’ Minorities Suffering in Illinois

The Democratic Party that runs Illinois has focused on “equity” for minorities since at least 2019, from state to county to city government. But despite all the government spending to create “equity,” the state ranks second, according to one report. The minority is at the bottom in terms of happiness.

For example, Governor J.B. Pritzker capital department In 2021, it aims to promote “equity” for Black Americans and other minorities in the Land of Lincoln.

“It is the mission of my administration to be committed to justice and fairness in everything we do for the people of Illinois,” Governor Pritzker said at the agency’s launch. “I am proud that this executive order will help create a more just justice system that strengthens our state and expands opportunity for all residents. My goal is to look forward to the future of the world, and the actions we are taking today will bring us one step closer to that goal.”

That same year, Pritzker appointed a “chief diversity officer” for the state to implement diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies at the state level.

Despite all this effort, and despite the new taxes to support it all, the Economic Policy Institute report Black people in Illinois found themselves falling further behind than ever before.
