Detriot doctor accused of touching himself in front of elderly woman

A troubled Detroit doctor is accused of masturbating in front of an older woman who rejected his sexual advances after giving her a ride home from the salon.

According to Macomb County prosecutors, Steven Bruce Mason, 54, met the 76-year-old victim online and drove her home from a medical appointment on Aug. 1 when the lewd act took place.

According to prosecutors, the woman invited the doctor into her Sterling Heights home after he dropped her off, but the pervert took advantage of her advances and pressured the woman, who is in her 70s, into performing sexual acts on her, which she quickly refused.

After she turned him down, Mason allegedly masturbated in front of the 70-year-old.

He was later arrested and charged with assault and indecent assault.

“Our legal system does not discriminate based on occupation or social status. The law applies equally to everyone, whether they are a physician or other member of the community,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said in a statement.

“We are committed to pursuing justice impartially and holding all individuals accountable for their actions.”

Mason has had several prior run-ins with the law in multiple states, including accusations of sexual misconduct, according to reports Thursday.

His medical license in his home state of Indiana was revoked in 2005 after a state medical board investigation found he had sexual contact with patients, solicited sexual favours from employees, engaged in inappropriate touching and regularly drank alcohol while seeing patients at his family’s clinic. ClickOnDetriot reports.

He also faces charges of selling a prescription for a controlled substance, according to local media.

Two years later, he moved to Wisconsin and practiced medicine under a limited license that was granted on the condition that he undergo a sex addiction treatment program and regular drug and alcohol testing.

He then moved to Michigan in 2011, where he was employed by Lake Michigan Mobile Doctors USA and made home visits, local stations reported.

But he and two other doctors were the subject of an investigation by the FBI and the Michigan Department of Health in connection with a $1.7 million fraud scheme in which the doctors billed Medicare for visits they did not perform or were not required to perform.

Mason pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit health care fraud and was sentenced to 18 months in prison and a $50,000 fine by the Michigan Medical Board in 2017, according to ClickOnDetriot.

After his release from prison, Mason started a new medical company called Expert Opinion, LLC and advertised health consultations on his Facebook page by a “Dr. Steven” with no last name, according to the outlet.
