As a DFS player myself, I can’t even blame my fellow gamblers.
The Wells Fargo Championship will be held this weekend at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. 6th signature event The PGA Tour is on the schedule this season. There are only two players left this season. Hideki Matsuyama He was scheduled to play golf at the tournament, but withdrew just before tee time.
The lack of a warning made Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) players incredibly furious on the PGA Tour, but there were also signs that suggested Matsuyama could be bounced from the tournament as he battled energy. That was not the case at all. Matsuyama’s last tournament was the Masters in April, and he finished without any problems. (Related: Phil Mickelson says his career is nearing an end)
Nevertheless, Matsuyama withdrew from the Wells Fargo Championship on Thursday with an apparent back injury.
If you bet on DFS apps, you’ve probably noticed this type of complaint. Other leagues like the NBA, NFL, and MLB allow you to switch slips before the game starts. But with the PGA, everything is locked in once the tournament begins.
In other words, DFS players are losing money and are totally upset about it.
It’s pretty outrageous that Hideki Matsuyama was made WD after noon ET without any public hints about the injury or the impact on the PGA Tour.
This tour is publicly affiliated with multiple DFS and gambling companies.
Please together.

Another week, another big burn for DFS players, WDs in the second half after the lineup was locked.
In an ideal world, tours should collaborate @DraftKings and other partners must implement timelines for DFS players to adjust. Otherwise, it will affect fantasy players’ desire to bet on sports… https://t.co/7EeEEBcjDW

This is why late swaps should be allowed in all sports @DraftKings @FanDuel https://t.co/3zW7iU75f6

This is something I hope will be corrected on next year’s tour. A decision on the withdrawal should be sought by Wednesday evening.Too much money is at risk today https://t.co/Ptdg4U4qTJ
