DHS Unveils Criminal Histories of Arrested Illegal Aliens in NYC
The Department of Homeland Security has disclosed the identities and criminal backgrounds of illegal aliens apprehended during a recent black market operation on Canal Street in New York City.
Federal agents carried out a raid on the bustling street on Tuesday, where illegal street vendors are, unfortunately, a common sight. The situation quickly escalated, as crowds gathered to disrupt the operation, protesting against the targeting of these individuals.
On Wednesday, DHS revealed that those arrested had “violent rap sheets,” with charges ranging from burglary and domestic violence to drug trafficking and forgery. All the detained individuals hail from Africa, with at least five released into the U.S. by the current administration.
- Mamadou Ndoye: A criminal from Mali, previously ordered to leave the U.S. in 2008, with prior arrests on various charges, including assault and drug possession.
- Muhammad Ndiay: Hailing from Senegal, with a history of arrest for domestic violence and theft. He originally entered the U.S. in 1995.
- Aboubakar Diakiteh: Known for prior forgery arrests.
- Sergene Diop: Another Senegalese national, recently apprehended after entering the U.S. in April 2024, previously released by the Biden administration.
- Alioune Sy: Entered the U.S. in May 2023 but couldn’t exit when their tourist visa lapsed.
- Amadou Diallo: A criminal from Guinea who crossed into the U.S. in November 2021, also released by the current administration.
- Aidy Saar: Detained for various charges and previously ordered to leave in 2010.
- Bokal Soko: Apprehended three times for counterfeiting after entering the U.S. illegally in May 2023, he was also released into the U.S. by the administration.
- Modou Mbouup: Previously attacked Mexican law enforcement, entered the U.S. in a large caravan in September 2023, and was released by the administration.
Despite the documented criminal histories of these individuals, local Democrats have criticized the raid. “Thank you New Yorkers for mobilizing quickly. #ICEOutOfNYC,” said New York City Comptroller Brad Lander.
Governor Kathy Hochul expressed her concerns about the aggressive tactics used, stating, “Today, [Trump’s] investigators used batons and pepper spray against street vendors and onlookers on Canal Street. Attacking New Yorkers does not make New York safer.”
