Zach Bryan’s Controversial Song Sparks Debate
This past weekend, country music artist Zach Bryan shared a clip of a new song during his music show on Instagram. The song, titled “Red White Blue Fading,” has since stirred up a bit of controversy due to some of its lyrics that seem to criticize ICE, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. However, one noteworthy response came from the Department of Homeland Security.
On Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security’s X account featured a compilation video that included one of Bryan’s popular tracks. Interestingly, this video was accompanied by a caption referencing an “all-night revival.”
In the video, viewers observed various law enforcement activities, including arrests and riot control. Also highlighted was footage of Chief Gregory Bovino, the U.S. Border Patrol’s leader, who was reportedly attacked by a member of the Latin Kings gang recently.
One line in Bryan’s song raises eyebrows: “ICE is going to break down your door,” followed by “Try building a house / Nobody builds anymore.” It concludes with the stark image that the “red, white, and blue are fading away.”
After DHS shared the video, Bryan felt the need to clarify his position. In his Instagram stories, he expressed his wish to connect with those disappointed on either side of the issue, stating, “If you listen to the rest of the song, you’ll understand the full context on both sides of the aisle.” As of now, he hasn’t shared when the complete song will be released.
Attempts to reach out to Zach Bryan and his management for further comments were unsuccessful.
