DHS recognizes Angel moms for Mother's Day: 'My child should be here'

DHS Honors Angel Moms on Mother’s Day

On Mother’s Day, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) took a moment to recognize Angel moms, who endure the immense grief of losing a child. The department highlighted the pain these mothers face, made even more profound by the fact that many of these losses could have been prevented.

“This Mother’s Day, we especially honor Angel Moms,” the DHS remarked on social media. “Words cannot describe the pain of losing a child. Knowing their child’s deaths were entirely preventable only adds to the pain these brave women face every day.”

The DHS’s post also featured an emotional video montage of several mothers who shared their heart-wrenching stories, detailing how their lives have been forever changed by violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants.

“Birthdays, holidays, Mother’s days have never been the same. Not a celebration for me anymore. You see, I buried my son a week before Mother’s Day. I will never heal from this loss,” one mother expressed.

Others shared similarly painful sentiments:

“My baby should be here. She has no reason not to be.”

“I don’t want any other parent to live the nightmare that I am living.”

“We’re just asking to get rid of the criminals who hurt our family.”

Many of these mothers expressed their gratitude towards President Trump for the support they have received:

“The Trump administration has given us hope,” one mother said. “When I first met him, he told me, ‘Your son did not die in vain.’ I never imagined a leader would know my son’s name and story. I’ll keep sharing it until I can hug him again.”

Another mother quoted the administration’s slogan, “Promises made, promises kept.”

The current administration has focused heavily on reducing illegal immigration and deporting those who are undocumented. Immigration enforcement has ramped up, leading to arrests of individuals involved in serious crimes.

Recently, President Trump held a Mother’s Day Luncheon at the White House Rose Garden, inviting Angel moms and Gold Star mothers—those who have lost children in military service.

“You notice the roses… we added a lot of roses, I will tell you… and you deserve them,” Trump remarked during the event.

The White House also extended Mother’s Day wishes to mothers nationwide, acknowledging their sacrifices and love.

“Today, we celebrate the mothers whose unwavering love, sacrifice, and strength help mold the heart and soul of our nation,” the White House shared on social media. “To the millions of moms across America—thank you. Happy Mother’s Day from the White House.”
