FBI Charges Four New Jersey Noncitizens with Illegal Voting

The FBI has taken action against illegal voting, as evidenced by the indictment of four noncitizens in New Jersey. Meanwhile, New York Governor Cathy Hochul is advocating for measures against ICE, such as prohibiting collaboration with local police and allowing lawsuits against federal agents. This has drawn criticism, particularly from former NYPD Lieutenant Paul Mauro, who argues that these proposals might be unconstitutional and could undermine essential interagency task forces as well as disrupt long-standing law enforcement partnerships.

A legal permanent resident from Australia, named Dennis Natalie Migliore, was arrested for allegedly participating in unlawful voting during a federal election in Louisiana, according to officials.

Migliore, 51, faced a four-count indictment last month for providing false information when registering to vote and for illegally casting a ballot. Prosecutors claim she intentionally made false assertions about her U.S. citizenship in both October 2022 and 2024 in order to register for federal elections.

In November of that year, she purportedly voted after inaccurately certifying her eligibility as a U.S. citizen.

On July 1, the Department of Homeland Security apprehended Migliore in federal court in New Orleans, following an investigation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“This Australian-born individual now faces serious federal charges for misrepresenting herself as a U.S. citizen and illegally voting in two elections,” stated Lauren Biss, acting assistant secretary for public affairs at the Department of Homeland Security. “Her arrest results from the dedication of ICE officers and our federal partners.”

She emphasized that the message to noncitizens attempting to vote in American elections is straightforward: “We will identify you, apprehend you, and you will confront legal repercussions, including criminal charges and potential deportation. Only Americans should decide who leads the country.”

If convicted, Migliore could face up to five years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, along with a possible fine of $250,000 and a $100 special assessment fee.
