DHS Reports Sharp Rise in Threats Against ICE Agents

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has disclosed an astonishing 8,000% surge in death threats against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, as highlighted in a recent press release.

Incidents involving death threats and the exposure of personal information about ICE agents and their families have surged. In some cases, it seems that bounties are being offered for their harm. Concerns about agent safety have been escalating for months. Recently, the Department of Justice (DOJ) arrested ten individuals allegedly involved in violent acts against law enforcement during protests targeting ICE.

Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, “Our ICE law enforcement agencies are currently facing an 8,000% increase in death threats. They are putting their lives on the line every day to combat the most serious threats.”

McLaughlin further noted, “From bounties on their lives to threats against their families, our law enforcement community is encountering unprecedented violence and intimidation. Sanctuary politicians are only fueling the rise in threats through their smear tactics and negative comparisons to historical oppressive regimes. This violence against law enforcement must cease.”

Earlier in October, Eduardo Aguilar, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, was apprehended after posting on TikTok about “10 determined, fearless men in Dallas,” mentioning a reward for ICE agents. In the same month, an accused gang member allegedly offered at least $10,000 for information regarding the Border Patrol’s top commander.

Reports indicate attacks on agents have occurred in states like Texas and Illinois, raising alarms about ICE operations in locations such as California and Oregon.

Large demonstrations have been reported outside ICE facilities throughout 2025, predominantly in Democratic-governed states. Several protesters have already faced arrests. California recently enacted SB 627, which prohibits law enforcement from obscuring their identities during ICE investigations.

California Republican Senator Tony Strickland shared concerns about this issue, stating, “At a time when recruitment is difficult, we are endangering not just those in the field, but also off-duty agents and their families due to doxxing.”

He also pointed out that the California Legislature cannot govern federal employees, rendering actions under SB 627 reckless and potentially harmful for local law enforcement.

Additionally, three women recently followed an ICE agent home while livestreaming his address on Instagram, further highlighting the escalating risks. The Trump administration does not intend to comply with SB 627, which is set to take effect in January 2026.

Recent data from the DHS showed a staggering 1,000% increase in assaults against ICE officers, alongside threats directed at their families and personal information disclosures.
