DHS Starts Ending Biden's Migrant Parole Program, Advises Undocumented Individuals to Leave on Their Own

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has started the process of terminating the large migration parole program initiated under former President Joe Biden, advising unauthorized immigrants to leave the United States voluntarily.

On Thursday, DHS representatives revealed that those who benefited from Biden’s parole program would begin receiving notices indicating the revocation of their parole and work permits.

In March, the previous administration announced plans to rescind the legal status of over 530,000 immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela who had entered the U.S. under Biden’s CHNV parole program.

Two organizations linked to George Soros attempted to challenge this move, but the Supreme Court ruled that DHS could proceed with the termination of the program.

“The Biden administration misled the American people,” stated Tricia McLaughlin, Deputy Director of DHS, in a comment.

They permitted over half a million vetted individuals from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, along with their close relatives, to enter the U.S. through these flawed parole programs. This allowed them to vie for American jobs, often undermining American workers. Even in cases of identified fraud, the response involved elevating civil servants to more permanent positions. She then criticized Congressional Republicans for the ensuing chaos and related crimes. [Emphasis added]

Ending the CHNV parole program, including those who misused it, is a crucial step back toward sensible policies. We need to prioritize public safety and restore a sense of order in America. [Emphasis added]

The DHS is encouraging parole immigrants to self-deport and mentions that those utilizing the CBP Home Phone Application can travel abroad at no cost and could earn a $1,000 reward upon successful self-reporting.

Additionally, this week, DHS announced that unauthorized immigrants who report themselves through mobile apps would not face civil penalties or fines for their illegal activities in the U.S.
