Dick Vitale attends Yankees-Rays series after undergoing surgery to treat cancer

Nothing can stop Dick Vitale — including being a Rays fan.

The legendary ESPN college basketball announcer was spotted in the stands with his grandchildren during Tuesday night’s Yankees-Rays game, where he was in the spotlight from the YES Network and congratulated by play-by-play announcer Michael Kay.

Vitale later thanked Kaye for the compliment and praised his insight in a post on X.

Vitale announced on June 28 that a biopsy on a lymph node in his neck showed he was once again battling cancer, marking the latest setback in his tough, years-long battle with the disease.

On July 2, Vitale revealed that he had successfully undergone surgery to remove cancer from lymph nodes in his neck.
