Following the debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, Taylor Swift took to Instagram to endorse Harris and Waltz.
While the pop star urged people to do their research and vote for the candidate they feel best represents their values, she also highlighted her post with a joke mocking JD Vance, signing it off as “Taylor Swift, childfree cat loving woman.”
Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever point guard and most well-known women's basketball player, liked Swift's post, leading people to speculate about Clark's political leanings, with many assuming she must also support Harris.
When asked if that was the case, Clark dodged the question and said he would only use his position to encourage people to vote.
“For me personally, this is the second time I've been able to vote in an election as a 22-year-old. I could vote when I was 18, so I'm going to vote. That's the biggest thing I can do with the platform that I have, and that's what Taylor did. I think the biggest thing you can do is continue to educate yourself about the candidates that we have and the policies that they support. And that's what I would encourage anybody who has that opportunity in this country to do.”
Jason Whitlock, a longtime fan and critic of Caitlin Clark, has discussed how Clark's political stance affects both his own and fans' perceptions of her.

According to Steve Kim, “We need to stop expecting the celebrities we follow to have the same beliefs as us. Conversely, we, the general public, need to stop being sheep swayed by celebrity endorsements.”
“What is [Clark’s] “It has nothing to do with political leanings. Honestly, I don't think it matters that much,” he told Jason, adding, “I hope that stays the same.” [Jason’s] Your opinion of her.”
