Diddy Accusers’ Attorney Sues Jay-Z, Accusing His Roc Nation of Attempting to Turn Clients Against Him

The feud between lawyer Tony Buzbee and rapper Jay-Z began with Buzbee filing a lawsuit against Buzbee and his Roc Nation Entertainment company, and the rapper contacting Buzbee's clients and calling them out. “Defendants engaged a shadow operative to illegally seek out more than 20 current and former clients of the Buzbee Law Firm and persuade these clients to file frivolous lawsuits against the Buzbee Law Firm. and conspired to obstruct justice,” Buzbee's latest complaint alleges.

Buzbee said more than 20 customers were approached by bees, some of whom “flashed fake badges” and “pretended to work for the state of Texas” when meeting with Buzbee's clients. Some people were approached by operatives, he added.

The lawsuit also alleges that Buzbee preserves audio recordings of some of these meetings where lawyers offer money to pursue lawsuits against Buzbee and his law firm.

“In Texas, it is unethical and criminal to pay an individual to file a false application. It is a crime to impersonate a state official. In at least one case, the defendant's attorney said that Buzbee Law “They offered former clients of the firm as much as $10,000 to sue the firm, and their agents were caught red-handed on tape,” Buzbee's lawsuit adds.

“This action specifically targets our company, and we will not pursue litigation related to the Diddy case,” Buzbee told CNN. “But we will not be bullied or intimidated.”

Meanwhile, Roc Nation called Buzbee's latest allegations “despicable.”

“Tony Buzbee's big money lawsuit against Roc Nation is just another sham,” Roc Nation told CNN. “It is a pathetic attempt to distract and divert attention. This sideshow will not change the final outcome and true justice will be served soon.”

Law firm Quinn Emanuel also released a statement, saying in part, “We believe this frivolous lawsuit is an attempt to distract from his other frivolous lawsuits. We don't know if there are.”
